Blue Dart is setting up 45 facilities in different parts of the country with an estimated investment of Rs 25 crore to meet the demand of its client base. With Tamil Nadu emerging a hot spot investment destination and increased demand for inbound and outbound shipments growing, the company has set up its new facility near IT corridor.
The 2,400 sq ft world-class facility will manage close to 28 routes in Adayar, South Chennai, with a workforce of over 50 employees.
" Chennai is critical to Blue Dart's business growth since many key industries are located in south India. Our business in South India and Chennai in particular is growing rapidly and we felt it was necessary to invest in building a modern, new facility to meet this need," Blue Dart Express vice president, southern region Gopa Kumar said.
Blue Dart, through this facility, would be reaching out to provide customized logistics solutions to key industries like software, pharma, printing and publishing, electronics and heavy engineering industries. "We have, over the last few months, investment significantly in enhancing our infrastructure network in Chennai - building new facilities, equipping them with the latest technology solutions, enhancing capacities and ensuring greater flexibility to meet the demanding needs of our customers," he added.
