Blue Dart launches new warehouse in city

Air Express and courier company Blue Dart on Tuesday announced, the launch of its new warehouse at Lasudia Mori in Indore.
The company has announced investment of Rs 22 crore to establish 57 new facilities across the country over the year.
Announcing the opening of new warehouse, Company general manager Samir Shah told reporters here, "Indore is one of the fastest growing tier II cities and is of high significance to Blue Dart. It is a favoured test market owing to the diversity of its population and a strategic hub for additional ground route connectivity between Delhi and Hyderabad.".
Shah said Blue Dart handled over seven lakh shipments from the area. last year and is investing to support the increased demand. The new facility, spread over 5200 square feet, is primarily to support the growing business volume from the city and top sustain and enhance the service standards offered by the company.
Indore, he said, contributes significantly, to Blue Dart's turnover in the region with a 30 per cent growth being foreseen in the current year:" Through this new warehouse, the company will cater to industry, segments such as auto components, pharma, textile, engineering and banking among other.
Company's vice president, Tulsi Mirchandaney said in reply to a question that the Postal Amendment Bill that aims at imposing restrictions on the courier companies is a regressive move and will harm the industry. Blue Dart currently has 38 domestic warehouses and 234 offices across India amounting to over 8,90,000 square feet of facility space.
