Blue Dart Q1 net up 23 pc.

The courier and logistics company. Blue Dart Express Ltd, announced that it has recorded a 23 percent increase in the net profit of Rs 5.55 crore in the quarter ended June over Rs 4.51 crore in the quarter ended June 2002.

Its income from operations in the first quarter (April-June) increased by 19 percent to Rs 82.10 crore compared to Rs 77.91 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.

However, the total income has shown an increase of 5.4 per cent at Rs 82.18 crore over Rs 77.98 crore over the previous corresponding period,after excluding the service income 11 per cent which was a part of the first quarter of the previous year that the company earned for its erstwhile inetrnational alliance contract.

The contract was allowed to expire on September 30, 2002.

Net interest payments fell to Rs 94 lakh in the April-June quarter compared to 1.92 crore in June quarter 2002.
