Blue Dart Ties Up With Lankan Co. Hayleys

Blue Dart Express, the integrated air express courier and logistics company, on Tuseday announced a regional alliance agreement with the Hayleys Group of Sri Lanka. Customers from Sri Lanka and India will now have accces to transportation, distribution and delivery services for documents, packages and critical supply chain needs. Blue Dart's intergrated network will reach customers in over 13,700 locations across the country and 400 locations in Sri Lanka. It will support deliveries with real time tracking systems. The company is the domestic leader in India with 39% market share, and already has a presence among the Saarc countries of Bangladesh , Bhutan and Nepal. Tulsi Nowlakha Mirchandaney, senior vice president , marketing & projects, Blue Dart, said " The alliance assures advantages to regional business through Blue Dart's integrated infrastructure." Mohan Pandithage, director, Hayleys group, said, "With Sri Lanka poised to be a major hub for logistics and distribution in the Saarc region, efficient distribution will play an important role in facilitating business." Hayleys is one of the largest conglomerates in Sri Lanka, and has a portfolio of globally competitive core businesses spanning transportation, logisitics, coir, rubber environment, agriculture, plantations, inland marketing, knitted fabrics, tourism, financial services, IT and infrastructure. It contributes 2.3% to Sri Lanka's gross export earnings and 1.3% to its GDP.
