Blue Dart Q3 net profit rises 58 pc

Blue Dart Express Ltd has recorded a net profit of Rs 11.12 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2004, a 58.40 per cent growth on the Rs 7.02 crore recorded in the corresponding previous quarter.
For the third quarter under review, income from operations increased by 35.21 per cent to Rs 121.45 crore and the profit before tax increased to Rs 17.70 crore (Rs 10.94 crore) over the same period in the previous year.
Mr Clyde Cooper, Managing Director, Blue Dart Express, said: "The company has shown consistent growth over the past year reflecting the postive impact of the expanding economy and the value addition we provide to our customer distribution needs. We have added capacity in the past quarter to support increased demand, especially for our air package services, that play an important role in distribution for the B2B segment."
During the nine-month period ended December 31, 2004, it reported a net profit of Rs 29.49 crore (Rs 19.21 crore) on a total income of Rs 337.12 crore (Rs 260.49 crore).
