Blue Dart net profit up 58%

Blue Dart Express posted a 58.40 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 11.12 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2004. Income from operations for the third quarter of the year stood at Rs 121.45 crore, an increase of 35.21 per cent over the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company posted a Rs 17.70 crore profit before tax for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 compared with Rs 10.94 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2003. Clyde Cooper, managing director, attributed the company's performance to the positive impact of an expanding economy and the value addition of Blue Dart Services to its customer's distribution needs.
