Blue Dart Inaugurates New Superhub
-Adds Ninth Superhub to Southern Region

Bangalore: March 22, 2006

Blue Dart, South Asia's largest integrated air express, courier and logistics company, today inaugurated its new superhub facility near Whitefield in Bangalore. With Bangalore developing into an important hub for services and manufacturing, such as IT, consumer durables and garments, the new facility allows proximity to its clientele for greater efficiency and customer convenience.

Speaking on the occasion, Malcolm Monteiro, Managing Director, Blue Dart Express Ltd. said, "The four states in South India represent important, growing markets for our business. Bangalore, especially, has posted strong growths in the package segment. We handled about 42,000 tonnes from the Southern Region between January to December 2005, almost equivalent to the total exports and imports out of Bangalore airport."

" This is our ninth superhub facility in South India, and part of our ongoing drive to bring international quality services to the domestic market. We have a total facility area of over 600,000 sq ft across the country, of which over 210,000 sq ft is in the Southern Region. Air Express is our area of core competence and we built the aviation system to support our business model. Our surface infrastructure integrates into our air system to provide the last-mile delivery designed to meet our express requirements to deliver door-to-door. Our vehicles operate to fixed-time schedules, similar to our aircraft. We leverage our surface infrastructure for an economical service offering to customers to enhance their less time-sensitive distribution needs.

Speaking on the company's plans for the year, Mr. Monteiro said, "India is today riding on an 8% GDP growth, possibly increasing to 10%, spurred by domestic consumption. We have been building our integrated air and surface infrastructure to be ideally positioned to support just such a growth. We already have an aircraft based at Bangalore, with 7 route connections each night. The new superhub facilitates ground deliveries to over 3,300 locations in this region with the added value of connectivity and tracking systems to bring high levels of reliability to the ground infrastructure. The multi-modal network provides customers with a complete range of options of air express, airfreight and surface as well as charters to meet their distribution demands".

After the inauguration of the new superhub in Bangalore, the media were briefed on the warehouse activities via a tour of the facility. Malcolm Monteiro, attired in a Blue Dart uniform, scanned a shipment at the facility to flag off the warehouse operations. The media were, thereafter, taken on a visit to the aviation hub at Bangalore airport to exhibit the entire operation process. One of the highlights of the entire event was a detailed visit inside the Boeing 737-200 freighter to give the media a first hand experience of a cargo aircraft.
