Blue Dart's Technology Edge
- A back-up technology hub in Bangalore as a part of its Business Contingency Continuity Plan (BCCP)

Mumbai : August 17, 2006:

Blue Dart, South Asia's largest integrated air express, courier and logistics Company, has set up a back-up technology hub in Bangalore as part of its Business Contingency and Continuity Plan (BCCP). The BCCP plan is aimed towards ensuring that all centralized applications and the web interface for customers are made seamlessly available to them. Through this, Bangalore will serve as the hot standby site with real time switchover in the event of any eventuality at Blue Dart's Mumbai Headquarters which hosts the entire centralised applications and the Bluedart.com website.

Speaking on the occasion, Gopinath Menon, Senior VP - South II Region, Blue Dart Express Ltd. said, "Technology is a critical component in our distribution and logistics for connectivity, control and ensuring a sophisticated decision support tool. Our BCCP is part of our Rs 250 million investment, excluding aviation services, we had earmarked for this year. We have selected Bangalore because it is in a different seismological area from Mumbai and is considered to be the IT capital of the country. "

"We continually strive to maintain high customer satisfaction levels and, with this back-up technology hub, our 24x7 systems would run seamlessly, enabling all our customer front-end applications as well as internal systems and connectivity, and customer access as well as track and trace of their shipments under all conditions". Mr. Menon added.
