Blue Dart Aviation Introduces Software Application to Analyse and Monitor In-flight procedures of CVR/DFDR
-Crosses another Milestones in the history of Indian Civil Aviation, by introducing this unique software-
Blue Dart Aviation, India's first all jet cargo airline and a subsidiary of Blue Dart Express Limited, has introduced a software application for the synchronous analysis of the Digital Flight Recorder (DFDR) and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR). This first of its kind, the software application records all relevant in-flight conditions, instrument parameters and conversations between the pilot and air traffic controller. The main function of this software is to analyse and synchronise Flight Recorder readings (CVR/DFDR) and effectively monitor in-flight procedures adopted by the crew.
Developed in-house by the Blue Dart Aviation team, this software application enables the Flight Operation Supervisor in introducing appropriate remedial measures towards qualitative improvement and enhancement of flight safety. This software is equipped to playback CVR recordings synchronously with DFDR data. All DFDR data, for a flight, is displayed through redesigned flight instruments on the screen. The instruments have been redesigned in such a way that they resemble the cockpit instrumentation. This software is Y2K compliant and has been developed according to the instructions contained in the Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) Air Safety Circular No.3 of 1997.
Commenting on this achievement of Blue Dart Aviation team, in the area of IT solutions, Clyde Cooper, Managing Director, Blue Dart Express Limited and Blue Dart Aviation said, "At Blue Dart, we have constantly invested on upgrading information technology to optimise productivity, improve safety and increase reliability in the aviation sector. Recognising this, Blue Dart Aviation has been focusing on developing software solutions and applications for many of the things currently done manually."
Pioneer of the use of information technology in aviation sector, Blue Dart Aviation introduced India's first Load and Trim software for their Boeing 737 flights. This software helps reduce the preparation time of Load and Trim Sheet to less than 3 minutes as against the 30 minutes of manual method. Infact its freighter aircraft offers volumes and dimensions not available on any domestic airline. This is supported by efficient ground handling facilities, India's only computerised cargo reservation system and express driven efficiencies.
Blue Dart has pioneered the concept of all Jet cargo networks in India. Blue Dart's Two Boeing 737 Freighters offer a capacity of 16 tonnes each, and a total capacity per night of 84 tons on its routes enabling the company to provide overnight delivery for shipments ranging from 500 grams upwards to 16 tonnes in varied shapes and sizes, to 1101 locations in India. This has helped Blue Dart consolidate its market share in the Indian express industry and emerge as a leading domestic player. Today, Blue Dart's infrastructure includes two Boeing 737's, over 1500 vehicles and a countrywide communication network that offers its customers package tracking and tracing. Blue Dart is the only express company with an ISO 9001 certification.
Blue Dart Express Limited is India's leading express company with a 33% domestic market share. Blue Dart today offers a comprehensive range of services and products for both international and domestic shippers. Blue Dart's continuous commitment towards understanding the needs and concerns of the customer have enabled it to provide unmatched standards of service quality with 99.87% reliability levels in the express industry. Over the years, Blue Dart has managed to expand this market rapidly which is reflected in its turnover growth.
