Blue Dart bags Good Corporate Citizen Award 2009-10 Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry Confers Blue Dart with Good Corporate Citizen Award - Medium Corporate Category

Blue Dart Express Limited, South Asia's premier No.1 Express Air and Integrated transportation, distribution and logistics company has been conferred the 'Good Corporate Citizen Award for the year 2009-10' in the Medium Corporate category by the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Winners from other categories are Larsen & Toubro Ltd. in the Large Corporate category, BDH Industries Ltd. in the Small & Micro Companies category and Birla Sun Life Insurance in the Banks & Financial Institutions category. The Award has been instituted to identify and honor companies that have been making positive contributions to the community, while being responsible corporate.

This prestigious Award was received, on behalf of all Blue Dart employees at a gala ceremony held in the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai on 21st September 2010. The Award Distribution Ceremony was held along with the Foundation Day Function of the Chamber. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Governor of Maharashtra. Other dignitaries including CEO & MD Hindustan Unilever - Nitin Paranjape, Executive Director of Tata Sons - R. Gopalakrishnan were also part of the ceremony.

The Chamber has been awarding the Good Corporate Citizen Award since 1993 and this is their 175th Anniversary. The awards this year have been increased to four categories to include Large corporate, Medium corporate, Small and Micro Companies and Bank and Financial Institutions. The applications were judged by a distinguished panel of judges from Legal, Corporate and Academic fields. The jury has unanimously chosen the winners in each category after studying the detailed applications submitted by the participants.

On Blue Dart being conferred the Award, Anil Khanna, Managing Director, Blue Dart Express Ltd. said, "We are extremely proud to have been conferred with the title of Good Corporate Citizen since we believe in striving for the overall betterment of the society which we are a part of.
