Blue Dart Launches ImageDart
- Software boon for Indian logistics

Blue Dart Express Limited, South Asia's leading express company, today launched ImageDart. The product will increase the efficiency of the supply chain and is the first of its kind in the domestic express industry. ImageDart will enable users of Blue Dart's Apex (Air Package Express) and Surfaceline services to download Proof Of Delivery (POD) and Delivery Challans (DC) online, from the Blue Dart website.

The scanned image will be available on Blue Dart's website, www.bluedart.com, within 48 hours after the shipment has been delivered, and will allow customers to view, download or print their copies of the POD and DC. Also, as per the "Gazette of India", (page no. 3, point (t) and page no. 5, chapter III) on "legal recognition of electronic records", the scanned image of the POD/DC can be treated as a legal document.

The image has complete delivery details including the consignee's signature and comments. ImageDart will store the image for upto 45 days after delivery of the shipment.

ImageDart offers unique value propositions in terms of saving time (the scanned image is made available much quicker than a hard copy) and costs (costs associated with the logistics and administration of returning the original copies of PODs/DCs to the station of origin). ImageDart also eliminates the possibility of customer dissatisfaction that would otherwise arise in the event of loss of a physical copy.
