Blue Dart Express Ltd. Inks Pact with DMRC to Launch South Asia Pacific's First Metro-Enabled Urban Logistics Service
Blue Dart Express Ltd., South Asia’s premier express air, integrated transportation, and distribution logistics company, has entered a strategic partnership with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to introduce South Asia Pacific’s first metro-enabled urban logistics service. This industry-first initiative marks a significant step in redefining urban freight transportation while reinforcing both Blue Dart and DMRC’s commitment to environmental stewardship and fostering more sustainable logistics solutions.
Under this collaboration, Blue Dart will transport cargo via metro trains, utilizing their capacity and routes to ensure faster and more reliable movement of time-sensitive shipments. This innovative approach serves as an efficient and alternative transport solution, thereby easing road congestion and curbing vehicular emissions. At the same time, DMRC will optimize its resources while reinforcing its commitment to reducing environmental impact. Moreover, Blue Dart will capitalize on DMRC’s stations and tracks to develop a more sustainable urban freight network across Delhi-NCR.
This partnership aims to boost operational efficiency, shorten delivery timelines, and support urban freight systems with lower carbon emissions by repurposing metro premises into logistics hubs. DMRC plans to expand this cargo network to additional metro stations, further solidifying Blue Dart’s role in shaping the future of urban logistics.
